Greta is a tertiary qualified professional. She is a trained photographer with a Bachelor of Art Photography (RMIT), and has extensive industry experience working on assignments around Australia and abroad. She has a Masters of Art History & Theory (Sydney University), and a Diploma of Modern Languages. These qualifications underpin her research and production of creative projects.

Greta has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. With funding from the Australia Council for the arts, she conducted photography workshops and exhibitions in the Anindilyakwan communities of Groote Eylandt (NT, Australia) and was subsequently commissioned to work with the Gija communities in the East Kimberley (WA, Australia). In Victoria and NSW she has worked with and on the lands of the Barkandji, Mutthi Mutthi, Yorta Yorta, Boon Wurrung and Wurrundjeri peoples. She has also visited the Torres Strait community of Waiben (also known as Thursday Island).

Greta acknowledges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have distinct cultures, languages and histories but are united by an eternally strong connection to land, waterways and skies. Culture and Community have strengthened and responded to adversity and a rapidly changing world. When it comes to creative practice and in fact life’s journey, Greta has learnt a lot from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Greta is inspired by their creativity, humour, knowing, being and doing. Greta aims to honour this through her work.

Greta is based in Melbourne (Australia). She welcomes commissioned and collaborative projects and the opportunity to exchange diverse forms of knowledge.
